Get Involved

Thank you for your interest in getting involved with our walk and our mission!  There are a lot of ways for everyone to get involved with our Walk Across America, pet therapy, and animal rescue and we invite you to join us in any and all of the ways listed below:

Contact Us For A Therapy Visit: We will be making Therapy Visits throughout our walk and would love to visit you!  We visit retirement homes, group homes, schools, hospitals, rehab facilities, private homes, and anywhere else a dog’s unconditional love is needed.  Please see our Programs and Services page for more information.

Host Us: We carry camping gear and are self-sufficient, avoiding spending money on a hotel or hostel whenever we can.  However, a shower and even a bed would be nice from time to time.  Any funds raised that are not spent on the walk will be donated toward Pet Therapy and Animal Rescue.  By hosting us, you will be helping more of our funding go toward these causes.

Walk With Us: We have an open walk policy and welcome any and all to join us for a few miles, a few days, or even a few states as we walk.  This walk is very much about connecting with our country and the people in it and we would love to meet you, your family, and your dogs, and to hear your stories.  Contact us or check the website for our location.

Donate: There is a “Donate” button in the upper right hand corner of our website if you wish to send us a gift in support of our walk.  Any funds raised in excess of the cost of our walk will be donated toward Pet Therapy and Animal Rescue.  We also encourage you to donate to Pawsibilities Unleashed, your local animal shelter or rescue group, or any other cause that is important to you.  It is the support of people like you that makes so many of these amazing non-profit organizations and their projects possible.  We are currently affiliated with Pawsibilities Unleashed and Camelot Puppy Sanctuary.

Become A Sponsor: If you are interested in sponsoring our walk, please contact us.  We would love to hear from you!  Those are the emails and phone calls we dream of.  To our sponsors, we offer our honest and heartfelt representation of your company or product to everyone we meet, mention on our website, extensive in-the-field product testing, and our deepest appreciation and gratitude for your support of our walk.

Spread The Word: We have already been fortunate enough to have people forward our story to friends, family and fellow dog enthusiasts.  Our goal is to get the word out about Pet Therapy and Animal Rescue.  The more people who know about our walk, the more successful we will be.

Send Us A Message or Leave a Comment: We love hearing from our friends and readers and are incredibly grateful for the love and encouragement that has already come from family, friends, and complete strangers.  No matter what happens, we will reach the West Coast, but a little encouragement and positivity never hurt anyone.

Become A Pet Therapy Volunteer: Pawsibilities Unleashed is always looking for new volunteer teams.  Please take some time to look at the Pawsibilities Unleashed website and find out if you and your dog might be a good fit.  If you live outside of Kentucky, there are a number of national organizations like Delta Society that certify pet therapy teams all over the country.

Adopt Your Next Pet: If you are thinking about adding another pet to your household, please consider adoption!  Petfinder is a great place to start looking at the adoptable animals in your area.  After all, that is how we found Grace and Max.

Volunteer With Your Local Shelter or Rescue Organization: There are animal rescues and shelters everywhere and nearly all of them eagerly accept volunteers for a variety of jobs.  You can transport, foster, help out at the facility, or even help with grant writing and other administrative duties depending on your skill set.  Petfinder or just a general internet search is a great way to locate shelters in your area that might be looking for help.
