A brief update

It is 1:30am and we are working on finalizing our packs. This part is never easy, but it is even more difficult than expected. I have never taken a trip that is this long and it is difficult to wrap my brain around what I am REALLY going to need. I don’t remember the last time I had to make this many important decisions in such rapid succession. Reminder to self: we will over-pack and we can mail things home. Thanks mom.

First thing tomorrow morning, we leave my parent’s home in western New York to drive to Lewes, Delaware. We start walking in less than 36 hours, the morning of March 1st. Our packs are too heavy. Some miles on the road will fix that.
